Dr Tapas Sen to speak at London Lab Live 2026 on nanotechnology and lab sustainability

6–7 May 2026 | ExCeL London | Panel & Roundtable

Dr Tapas Sen, Reader and Founding Director of NanoSen Ltd at the University of Central Lancashire, will take the stage at London Lab Live 2026 as one of four panellists focusing on laboratory sustainability — and will lead a dedicated roundtable discussion on nanotechnology in sustainable development.

The event runs on 6 and 7 May 2026 at ExCeL London, one of the capital's flagship convention centres. It is widely regarded as the leading gathering for laboratory research and development professionals in the UK, drawing participants from across the global scientific community.

"This event delves into the latest advancements across eight key themes, including sustainability, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and lab operations, exploring how modern labs are evolving to meet tomorrow's challenges and opportunities."

What Dr Sen will be discussing

Dr Sen's session will sit within the event's sustainability strand, where he will join three other panel members to examine how laboratory practices can be made more sustainable. He will also lead a roundtable specifically on the role of nanotechnology in sustainable development, an area in which he has spent decades building internationally recognised expertise.

His work spans the application of nanotechnology across multiple industries, from environmental monitoring to water purification, research recognised most recently by the British Council, which featured Dr Sen in a film on supporting universal access to clean water.

A busy year on the global stage

London Lab Live is not the only major platform Dr Sen is contributing to in 2026. In April, he was one of just five plenary speakers worldwide at the 11th World Congress on Recent Advances in Nanotechnology in Paris, a significant recognition of his standing in the field.

Alongside these commitments, Dr Sen continues to oversee three active research projects running through to September 2027, ensuring his work remains firmly embedded in the academic and applied science communities.
